Dickason is on trial in the High Court at Christchurch accused of murdering her three young daughters in Timaru.
A defence expert, who focuses on why parents kill children, is expected to support Dickason's defence of insanity and infanticide.
The Herald's Anna Leask says three defence experts and two Crown experts will present the jury with their evaluation.
She says the Crown argues Dickason was not insane at the time of the killings.
