    Early forecasts suggest New Zealand could be in for a damp Christmas


    MetService forecaster Heath Gunnery says most of the North Island will probably have a showery Christmas Day.

    He says the best weather will be in the east of the North Island, including Hawke's Bay and Gisborne.
