A man has admitted to shooting his daughter with a paintball gun because she wouldn't tidy her room

A man has admitted to shooting his daughter with a paintball gun because she wouldn't tidy her room

Open Justice reports 42-year-old Michael Saunders appeared in Invercargill District Court this week after pleading guilty to recklessly discharging a paintball gun.

A police summary of facts says Saunders used a paintball gun to round up his chickens before he went inside and told his daughter to clean her room.

She refused and the man then fired two shots at the victim - both of which connected.

The Judge says it was a stupid thing to do, and deferred Saunders' sentence for 12 months.
