    Police will be holding those involved in the gang-related disorder, that saw a Hastings rugby game called off early, to account


    Eight players and their coach were inside a van that was peppered with shotgun pellets - as they fled the match on Saturday afternoon.

    An image shared with Hawkes Bay Today shows close to 50 holes in the back window - but no one was injured.

    Police will be looking at CCTV footage today - and say there's no ongoing risk to the public.

    But Area Commander Lincoln Sycamore told TV1 he's appalled by what went down.


    He says it was reckless, dangerous, absolutely unacceptable - and the Hasting community deserves better.
