A wet and windy start to the week, has put both ends of the South Island under Orange Heavy Rain Warnings

A low developing over the Tasman Sea, is expecting to bring up to 100 millimetres of rain between 10am and 10pm for Tasman northwest of Motueka.
North Otago, Dunedin and Clutha can also expect 120 millimetres of rain for 30 hours from midday.
MetService meteorologist Juliane Bergdolt says rain snow above 300 metres is also expected.
She says there's a chance it could fall to lower levels, but isn't expected to stick around.
