An arrest warrant's been issued for a 44-year-old man Police believe is involved with a spree of church arson attacks in Masterton over the weekend

Michael McRae is wanted by Police in relation to the fires, which saw four of the town's churches suffer moderate to significant damage.

Three other churches were targeted but didn't catch alight.

McRae posted a video to social media following the fires, claiming responsibility.

Police say any one with knowledge of McRae's whereabouts, or information about a green Ford Fiesta should come forward.
