    Northern Districts' Scott Kuggeleijn's broken the record for the fastest recorded 50 in New Zealand first-class history as his side chase the Plunket Shield title


    The all-rounder has smashed his half-century off 19 deliveries against Otago in Dunedin - breaking Auckland Aces Andre Adams' old record by one ball.

    Kuggeleijn's quick-fire effort coming as ND chased quick runs - they've set Otago a daunting 407 to win after making 140 for two in their second dig from just 11 overs.

    Otago could only limp to 145 in their first innings.
