An assist from an old Red Bull pal has helped Shane van Gisbergen storm to victory at Nascar's inaugural race in Mexico City

The Kiwi driver blew the field away late to win by 15 seconds.

The circuit is almost identical to the one used in Formula One.

Van Gisbergen says Max Verstappen gave him some inside oil on where to attack the track.

Verstappen finished second behind George Russell in this morning's Canadian Grand Prix, which Liam Lawson failed to finish.
