    An Air New Zealand plane has landed safely in Napier after getting a maintenance alert mid-air


    Fire and Emergency was on standby for the from Auckland to Napier just before 7.30 this morning - but weren't required.

    The aircraft will now go through a mandatory inspection before it is allowed to return to service.
