    A Gisborne teen accused of threatening to kill an MP has made his first appearance in the District Court today

    A Gisborne teen accused of threatening to kill an MP has made his first appearance in the District Court today


    The 19-year-old's bail conditions include not associating with the MP, or threatening violence to people or property.

    He faces a maximum seven years in prison if convicted.

    He also faces a charge under the Harmful Digital Communications Act for alleged social media postings, which could incur up to two years jail.

    He has interim name suppression.
