    A man's appeared in court charged with the murder of another man in New Plymouth last night


    Emergency services were called to reports of an altercation on St Aubyn Street near the Wind Wand, shortly before 7pm.

    A 44-year-old man arrested at the scene appeared in court in front of a public gallery packed with his supporters.

    He's been granted interim name suppression.
