Nicholls' unbeaten 104 has propelled Canterbury to 239 for 4 against Otago in Dunedin.

Elsewhere, an unbeaten 94 by Tim Robinson has Wellington 196 for 3 against the Central Stags in the capital....and Auckland are floundering at 207 for eight against Northern Districts in the Mount.

The West Indies are destroying a New Zealand eleven at Lincoln University...powering to 207 for one at tea.
