A Dunedin woman with 68-thousand social media followers, broadcast claims that her midwife was killing babies

A Dunedin woman with 68-thousand social media followers, broadcast claims that her midwife was killing babies

Elana Jane Robins appeared in court yesterday, and pleaded guilty to posting a harmful digital communication.

The ODT reports Robins' baby died in the womb late in her pregnancy, and she blamed the midwife for the stillbirth.

Police say these claims are being investigated.

The court heard Robins showed the midwife's website biography during a TikTok livestream and made threatening comments, which caused the midwife to fear for her safety and harmed her professional reputation.

Robins will be sentenced in March.
