Police are hoping an offender profile will help the public identify the person responsible for a death in Hawke's Bay's Hastings

Police are hoping an offender profile will help the public identify the person responsible for a death in Hawke's Bay's Hastings

37-year-old Teishallia Te Paea was found dead at an address on Kotuku Street on October 29.

Police say the body had likely laid undiscovered for several weeks - and they've sought help from behavioural specialists because the case is so unique.

Detective Inspector Martin James says it involves a targeted act of violence - with the offender knowing the victim and the property.

He says an attempt was made to conceal the crime - to create distance between the offender and victim.
