Airlines are responding to that, with Thai Airways planning to re-launch daily, non-stop flights between Auckland and Bangkok later this year.
Auckland Airport Chief Customer Officer Scott Tasker says New Zealand no longer has a travel demand problem post-covid.
He says outbound travel is above 2019 levels and international, in-bound, visitation is recovering strongly.
