The Sydney to Hobart yacht race is only two hours old but it's already obvious no race records will be broken this year

The fleet of 103 is battling to plough through choppy seas...with winds now turning light - making for a challenging start to the 628-nautical mile classic.

LawConnect has officially made it out of the Sydney Heads first... with rival supermaxis Scallywag and Andoo Comanche following close behind.

Drama unfolded when Comanche flew a protest flag, accusing Scallywag of tacking too close to her as the pair made their way out.

If Comanche's protest is upheld, Scallywag will need to complete a 720 penalty turn.
