Auckland's mayor is worried about the consequences of a report on moving the city's port

Auckland's mayor is worried about the consequences of a report on moving the city's port

The leaked report recommends shifting operations to Northport near Whangarei - and the Government force the relocation, if a deal can't be reached within a year.

Phil Goff says he disagrees with the proposal, even though he's in favour of moving the port.

He says it'd take decades to develop the 77 hectares of land - so it doesn't make sense to dump it all on the council now.
