Authorities are investigating three vehicles being destroyed in reported explosions at Coromandel's Whitianga overnight

Authorities are investigating three vehicles being destroyed in reported explosions at Coromandel's Whitianga overnight

Three burnt out cars are lined up at the Ferry Landing on Panorama Avenue - and a witness reported hearing a blast and seeing flames glowing on the waterfront.

Police suspect someone lit the cars - and locals have told our newsroom they heard two explosions.

FENZ says a fire investigator is at the scene.
