A young man's been accused of driving recklessly and nearly hitting a woman in Auckland's Takapuna

A young man's been accused of driving recklessly and nearly hitting a woman in Auckland's Takapuna

It's alleged a 19 year old lost control doing burnouts and mounted the footpath on Anzac Street at speed, as a restaurant worker stepped out.

The woman managed to duck back into the restaurant - narrowly avoiding serious or fatal injury.

The driver fled - but was later identified on CCTV cameras.

A man's been summonsed to the North Shore District Court on July 25 to face dangerous driving charges.
