The Police watchdog's found a Wellington police supervisor's inappropriate behaviour towards a junior female officer - amounted to serious misconduct

The Police watchdog's found a Wellington police supervisor's inappropriate behaviour towards a junior female officer - amounted to serious misconduct

A complaint was lodged in October 2023 - in relation to his behaviour during the junior's secondment.

His frequent verbal comments and their nature - created an uncomfortable workplace, where the woman felt unsafe.

    He subsequently resigned.

The IPCA found Police did not make proper enquiries into the allegations of sexual harassment.

It says Police should've considered suspending the supervising officer.
