A plea from Dunedin Police to parents, to be vigilant around their children's internet use

A plea from Dunedin Police to parents, to be vigilant around their children's internet use

It follows the sentencing of a 23-year-old man who posed as a child online, to deceive other kids into sending sexualised content.

He's been jailed for three years.

Detective Sergeant Reece Munro says the man's prosecution serves as a reminder for the offending which occurs in the community.

He wants parents to be alert to the possible risks -- but not alarmed.
