    Two separate smuggling attempts at Auckland Airport have been stopped in the same night this week, with more than 25-kilograms of illicit drugs seized

    Customs officers intercepted unaccompanied bags off a flight from Honolulu - containing plastic-wrapped packages of meth and cocaine.

    Its estimated street value is up to 8.9 million dollars.

    Officers also arrested a 57-year-old foreign national who allegedly attempted to smuggle in a suitcase containing 1.9-kilograms of meth.

    They say the suitcase lining revealed a white substance contained within the corrugation of a plastic panel.
