Otago halfback Dylan Pledger has missed out on the All Blacks XV development squad for their three-match northern tour in November

Coach Jamie Joseph - who will soon be Pledger's Super Rugby mentor at the Highlanders - has opted for Kyle Preston, Xavier Roe and Folau Fakatava.

The 30-strong squad features eight capped All Blacks - Preston, Fakatava, Brodie McAlister, Christian Lio-Willie, Dalton Papali'i, Braydon Ennor, David Havili and Dallas McLeod.

Lock Sam Darry was initially listed, but has been elevated to the test side after Patrick Tuipulotu's injury withdrawal.
