Southland Police investigating the assault of an Edendale man lured out of his home to help a woman, before being bashed unconscious, have released more details

The search continues for the man and woman who pretended to have a flat tyre to get the man outside on Saturday the 15th of November.

The victim, aged in his 50s, was left with a fractured eye socket, a broken nose and his attackers attempted to tape his hands behind his back.

Detective Sergeant Brian McKinney says the woman appears to be in her late teens or early 20s, and was wearing knee high black boots, a hoodie and a long black wig.

The man was wearing track pants, a hooded top and black gloves.
