    A washout in the men's Twenty20 Super Smash game between Auckland and Wellington at Eden Park outer oval


    Wellington had won the toss and chosen to bat, but the heavens opened before a ball could be bowled.

    It's the second rained out game Auckland has been involved with, after their Boxing Day match against the Northern Brave was abandoned.

    Earlier, the Auckland women's side claimed their first win of the competition with a five wicket victory over the Wellington Blaze.

    Set 113, the hosts reached the target with seven balls to spare - led by 53 to captain Maddy Green.
