A person's in custody and a 14-year-old girl is seriously injured, after being struck by a car outside a party in Tauranga last night

11 January 2026

Emergency services were called to Kaite-mako Road in Welcome Bay about 11.30pm.

Police say some teenagers were aggressive towards officers and ambulance staff, while a witness told our newsroom the party was large and out of control.

Enquiries are continuing and charges are expected. 01-11-26 1219
