Taranaki Police have arrested a driver and impounded two vehicles following multiple complaints of dangerous driving earlier this week

Taranaki Police have arrested a driver and impounded two vehicles following multiple complaints of dangerous driving earlier this week

A large convoy travelled through New Plymouth to Bell Block for a tangi on Monday, sparking numerous reports to Police.

Senior Sergeant Matt Prendergast says officers couldn't act safely at the time due to the number of vehicles involved.

He says while Police respect people grieving, their actions shouldn't disrupt others.

Enquiries are ongoing to determine if further illegal activity happened around the tangi.
