Vandals have caused tens of thousands of dollars of damage at an Auckland school over the weekend

Vandals have caused tens of thousands of dollars of damage at an Auckland school over the weekend

Snells Beach School principal Kathryn Ramel shared the news on Facebook, revealing devices were broken, the high jump mat was slashed, windows were smashed and fire extinguishers were discharged throughout classrooms.

She says Police have identified those involved - local teenagers who have never attended the school.

Ramel says the vandalism means some students will begin their term with some windows covered with ply.

A Police spokesperson says they've identified two young people in relation to the matter and they will undergo a youth process.
