    Canterbury police have issued an appeal for information about the theft of an Olympic gold medal, from a Christchurch home


    Les O'Connell won the medal as part of New Zealand's men's rowing coxless four at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

    Police say a number of items were taken from O'Connell's home in Strowan overnight Sunday into Monday.
