    Four youths and a 20-year-old man have been apprehended following an attempted burglary in Upper Hutt overnight


    Police were notified of an attempt to break into a store on Main Street before 1am.

    Hutt Valley Area Commander Inspector Wade Jennings says the alleged offenders made multiple unsuccessful attempts to break into the store, before fleeing the scene.

    He says the vehicle was later seen by Police where it was stopped, and five people were apprehended.

    The alleged offenders are due to appear in court on Thursday.
