A Christchurch high school teacher's lost her bid to keep her name secret, over a sexual relationship with a teenage student

Ella Wilson was a health and PE teacher at Cashmere High in 2022, when she added a 17-year-old boy on social media and invited him to her apartment.

A Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal report reveals the pair engaged in an inappropriate sexual relationship.

Wilson initially lied to her boss, labelling the allegations as schoolyard gossip.

The Tribunal's found her guilty of serious misconduct, and declined name suppression to avoid unfair suspicion falling on other teachers.
