NZTA's secured 100-thousand dollars from the National Land Transport Fund to design upgrades at Halswell Road, Halswell Junction Road and Sparks Road.

Regional Relationships Director James Caygill says slip lanes and multiple approaches leave pedestrians - especially school children - exposed when crossing.

Proposed changes include removing slip lanes and upgrading traffic lights.
