Auckland Thoroughbred Racing boss welcoming chance for city's sporting entities to align for inaugural Footy, Fillies and Fans weekend

Auckland Thoroughbred Racing boss Paul Wilcox is welcoming a chance for four of the city's core sporting entities to align from Friday to Sunday for the inaugural Footy, Fillies and Fans weekend

For a 100-dollar general admission ticket, punters can enjoy Champions Day at Ellerslie combined with the NRL's Warriors-Roosters game, Super Rugby's Blues-Crusaders contest and the A-League's Auckland FC-Perth Glory fixture.

Wilcox says there's more in common between the organisations than people would expect.

Warriors chief executive Cam George's keen eye on the Auckland sporting schedule, a polite request to the NRL and a bit of luck for the Blues means the city is spoilt for sporting choice.
