Aucklanders are being urged to prepare for possible power cuts this week

Aucklanders are being urged to prepare for possible power cuts this week

MetService predicts heavy rain and strong northerly gusts could hit the region tomorrow.

Vector warns there's potential trees will fall on power lines - particularly after a long dry spell.

Head of Network Field Services, Marko Simunac , asks the public to stay away from damaged power lines and repair teams.

He says people living in rural areas who use tank water should make sure they have plenty of bottled water.
