The government's facing pressure to strengthen Auckland's border

It comes as postive cases are found outside of Tamaki Makaurau this week ... in Waikato, Northland and Bay of Plenty.

Positive wastewater results have been detected in Hamilton and Palmerston North.

Otago University Epidemiologist Michael Baker says people travelling over the border currently need a PCR test and a reason for leaving.

But he says it could be tougher.
