Police are asking for information after an assault in the Hastings suburb of Flaxmere early yesterday morning

Police are asking for information after an assault in the Hastings suburb of Flaxmere early yesterday morning

A man was assaulted shortly after 5 near Chatham Park and received three stab wounds to his back and one to his neck.

The man says he was walking home from a night club and isn't sure where the attacker came from.

He says he didn't initially realise he had been stabbed.

The offender is described as a skinny man in his early 20s, 182cm tall with short hair and wearing a light coloured top.

Police want to speak to anyone in the Chatham Road area at the time - particularly between Margate Ave and Omahu Road.
