Auckland bar owners are anxiously waiting out the region's last weekend in lockdown

Auckland bar owners are anxiously waiting out the region's last weekend in lockdown

On Monday, Cabinet will confirm an in principle decision for New Zealand to shift to the traffic light system on Friday.

Officials will also consider at which setting the country will enter into the framework- with Auckland set to start in Red.

At any level - businesses can open - with more freedoms granted to Kiwis with a Covid Vaccine Pass.

Ding Dong bar and Infinity Night Club owner Mat Jorgensen says they are really excited to open again.

He says they have about 10 days notice to get ready, unlike in the past, allowing them to buy stock and give the place a scrub.
