Wellington openside flanker Du'Plessis Kirifi has been thrust straight back into the starting line-up as captain for tomorrow's NPC quarter-final against Counties-Manukau in the capital

Kirifi has been sidelined for months and didn't expect to be leading the Lions' hunt for the title.

TJ Perenara has been named in the reserves for what should be his last hurrah at provincial level before heading to Japan and Europe with the All Blacks.
