A man's been charged over the death of a well-loved rural postie - killed delivering his final parcel before retirement

Open Justice reports David Bullock was on his last day at NZ Post after 30 years - when he was hit and killed by a car near Leeston in July.

His son-in-law was also seriously injured.

It's understood the pair had been walking for help after Bullock's van became stuck in roadside mud.

A man appeared in Christchurch District court yesterday - charged with dangerous driving causing death.
