A fake police officer's been arrested in Auckland, after accidentally trying to pull over the real cops

A fake police officer's been arrested in Auckland, after accidentally trying to pull over the real cops

The 38-year-old man followed an unmarked Counties Manukau police vehicle last night, while driving a station wagon equipped with flashing red and blue lights.

Inspector Kerry Watso, says officers were perplexed, before quickly clocking, it was not Police-official.

When the impersonator realised the mistake, he tried to leave but was arrested a short distance away.

He was over twice the alcohol limit.

He'll appear in the Manukau District Court on Christmas Eve.
