Two people have been arrested after a police chase spanning Christchurch's eastern suburbs

Two people have been arrested after a police chase spanning Christchurch's eastern suburbs

Police say a 24-year-old failed to stop when signalled to do so, at the corner of Barbados Street and Bealey Avenue around 10.30pm.

He was pursued by police but continued driving, even after hitting road spikes.

The driver and one passenger were arrested when the car came to a stop at Anzac Avenue before 11pm.

The driver's due in court on multiple charges including failing to stop for police, dangerous driving and breach of bail.
