The remains of Rotorua property manager Susan Knowles, have been formally identified by the coroner

The remains of Rotorua property manager Susan Knowles, have been formally identified by the coroner

Open Justice reports Susan Doreen Knowles, from Ngongotaha, was one of two Rotorua women who were victims of the deadly Mount Maunganui landslide.

It is understood the 71-year-old was with her long-time friend Jackie Wheeler, on their annual summer camping.

Today, police presented evidence to Coroner Janet Anderson in the Tauranga District Court, which could establish Knowles' identity.

It included analysis of dental records and DNA evidence obtained from family members.
