It's expected to be months before storm-ravaged highways on the Coromandel Peninsula are fully restored

It's expected to be months before storm-ravaged highways on the Coromandel Peninsula are fully restored

Repairs are underway at three sites on State Highway Two through the Karangahake Gorge, with a further six still to be done.

Lane closures remain along State Highway 25, which loops much of the Peninsula, with 14 areas impacted, including a large underslip at Kuaotunu Hill.

The Transport Agency's assessing the bigslips which closed the road at Whiritoa to see if additional stabilisation will be needed.
