    A social etiquette gaffe from golfer Rory McIlroy


    He claims to have missed Tiger Woods' message after his US Open major loss last month after leading in the final round.

    Woods sent this type of support to his chum.



    McIlroy says he had no idea until he bumped into Woods at the Royal Troon course ahead of The Open Championship.



    McIlroy tees off at 9.09 tonight in the opening round - Woods is underway at 1.37 overnight.
