A clutch finish has clinched Hideki Matsuyama victory in the first tournament of this year's playoff series on golf's PGA Tour in Memphis

After dropping three shots in two holes at the 14th and 15th to relinquish the lead - the 2021 Masters champion has bounced-back to close his round with consecutive birdies and claim a two-shot win.

Xander Schauffele and Viktor Hovland were a shot back in a tie for second - while world number one and Olympics champion Scottie Scheffler was a further shot back in outright fourth.

Meanwhile - Brooks Koepka's bettered Jon Rahm on the first playoff hole to win the latest LIV Golf event in West Virginia.
