Brooks Koepka has birdied his last three holes for an eight-under 62, leaving him four shots clear on top of the leaderboard after the first round of LIV Golf Chicago, the final individual event of the season.

Koepka is going for a season-high third victory in LIV Golf this season, but is out of reach of the individual title.

That race is between Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann , who are six and seven back from Koepka respectively.

American Patton Kizzire leads the PGA Tour event in California by a single stroke at the halfway mark, at 13-under.

Earlier,Sam Jones was the only Kiwi to make the cut at the Irish Open, with Ryan Fox and Daniel Hillier missing out.
