Police who came across two teens struggling in the water at Waitangi - say it was a matter of right place, right time

The two girls got out of their depth after jumping off Waitangi Wharf yesterday afternoon, and were being swept out to sea by the current.

The Police Maritime Unit spotted the girls as they returned to the wharf, and saved them before they were carried further out.
