Christchurch residents are being warned against taking a dip in two popular swimming spots

Christchurch residents are being warned against taking a dip in two popular swimming spots

A health warning's been issued after high levels of faecal bacteria were found at both Sandy and Rapaki Bay.

Canterbury medical officer of health Dr Alistair Humphrey says the spots aren't suitable for swimming due to the health risk.

He also advises against eating shellfish from the area.
