    Concerns about tourists flouting safety rules to access a renowned Otago swimming spot


    The Department of Conservation's released photos of groups of people standing on suspension bridges at the Blue Pools near Makarora, despite them being closed for major maintenance.

    Central Otago operations manager Nicola Holmes says anyone accessing either the Blue Pools or nearby Makarora bridges are bypassing clear safety measures including signage and gates barring entry.
