Qualifier Tatjana Maria has ironically become the first female to win a tennis title at the Queen's Club in London since the venue last hosted a women's tournament in 1973

The 37-year-old German mother-of-two has beaten American eighth seed Amanda Anisimova in straight sets.

Maria becomes the oldest player to win a WTA Tour singles title since Serena Williams ASB Classic triumph in 2020 aged 38.

Billie Jean King remains top of the list when she won the Edgbaston Cup aged 39 in 1983.

Meanwhile, Taylor Fritz has won the Stuttgart Open final in straight sets over Alexander Zverev.
